Elevate Your Kitchen: Stylish Decor and Essentials

2025 is the first year I have spent in my 1927 home, and furnishing and decorating it has been such a dopamine-inducing experience. I have discovered Home Goods for the first time this year— I know it’s a bit late to the scene, but don’t worry, I will make up for lost time! I hope I can inspire you a bit with some of the kitchen finds I have fallen in love with this year.

Art Deco Inspired Space

Starting off with a more practical kitchen item, this is an amazing trash can I found at Home Goods. It reminds me of something found in a traditional & art deco home. It is so glamorous, and it is one of my regrettable non-purchases this year. Maybe I will have to go back and manifest it! This is definitely a piece that will not go overlooked.

I found this beautiful crystal bowl at the thrift store, Savers. It is quite the masterpiece and has been perfect for fruits, decoration, and more!

My next very extra kitchen appliance is the Bosch Universal Plus Mixer; this was given to me as a gift, and I am learning so much about what it can do. If you love making sourdough bread or any bread, this is probably one of the more high-end products for baking. I have used a KitchenAid for most of my life, and this is just so different, but I don’t think I will be going back! This mixer can accommodate so many different attachments (and apparently, it can even make ice cream); it will be so fun to try them out.

Mackenzie-Childs

Okay, now for my absolute favorite kitchen piece or pieces. This is the Mackenzie-Childs Sterling Check set! I love every single piece, from the tea kettle to the spoon rest. The squash pot is the bigger pot in the picture, and it’s perfect for serving cranberry sauce, sides, or anything you want. It just makes everything look a little fancier! There is also a sugar pot and a cream dispenser. I think both are so beautiful, and they just add so much character to a meal. I love adding character to everyday activities, and having a touch of glass and gold accents on my tea kettle just really lifts my mood. We use the spoon rest pretty much every day. If you are looking for a more affordable piece to start with that you will actually use, I highly recommend it!

Most Complimented Dishes

We have gone through so many plate sets, and I have to say this is by far my favorite one. They feel so smooth, and the pattern is very Art Deco, which I always feel adds the most character to anything the fastest. If you are in a home or apartment and want to go in a direction that still can feel modern but not millennial grey, then look into Art Deco inspiration on Pinterest. I still have not bought the entire set, but I hope to soon; I found the plates sold individually at Walmart, and I could not resist. I am super impressed with Walmart for that one. If you are interested, I believe it is the Thyme & Table Emmet 12 Piece Ceramic Dinnerware set.

I had to add the Mackenzie Childs Tea Pot because, of course, it is everyone’s favorite! Also, yes! That is a Kate Spade plate set! It was a gift from my best friend’s mom, who loves Kate Spade, and everyone who has seen this set in person asks what it’s called. Under the plate, it is labeled ‘Rose Park.’ It is such a perfect name for such a perfect set! It is so spring and effortless, perfect for a small breakfast or dessert party.

I hope you have been inspired to find and show off some of your own favorite kitchen pieces! The kitchen is one of my favorite rooms in the house, and it’s no wonder when there are so many things you can find useful and beautiful for cooking and decorating an already very creative space. Sometimes, the kitchen can feel like walking into a chore. The dishes are dirty, food needs to be made, and you are already behind. But if you can make your space more intentional and glamorize it a little bit, it will make a big difference. I think it is so important to make every room a safe space for you to feel relaxed and creative. Being intentional in your choices of what appliances to buy and what decorations and themes to use can make a huge difference. I hope you enjoyed my list and can comment on your own favorite pieces!
